New accomplishments

Yeah for Ashley who is finally starting to talk. She's been roaring like a lion and trumpeting like an elephant for ever and just today she "baaa"ed . She was saying "nana" for banana for a while and would very seldom say dog, but dog has made it to the top of her tiny list of words. But the surprising one is "zusas" for Jesus. I look forward to the morning when I hear "mama" coming from the crib instead of the usual yell of "Aaaahh" or to hear her first version of Rachel. Hopefully more will be coming quickly.

The past couple months we've had to set a complete table setting for Ashley and if we forgot her fork or napkin and everyone else had one she'd remind us. No more dry cereal for Ashley she wants to sit in her seat, with milk in her bowl and eat it with a spoon. This week she has decided to add real cups to her meal time need. Surprisingly she does pretty well with a cup.

She likes to color and doesn't want to be left out of anything so when Rachel sat down to paint, guess who else wanted to give it a try. I was smart enough to give her colored construction paper and water. It did the trick.

Ashely has to do everything her big sister does. From painting to

Hello? Hello?

Ashley loves phones. After yelling at Daddy because he didn't answer the text message beep. She finally just went and got his phone and brought it to him. Then we found her at her table talking. This morning she had an old cell phone and would point at mine, I'd pick it up and start to talk to her and she'd smile and talk back to me as though we were having a conversation on the phone.

1 year stats

Height: 28.5" 25-50%
Weight: 18 lbs 11 oz 10-25%
Head Circ. : 43cm 5%

My accomplishments: I can say dog and banana, but only when I want to. I wave bye bye, and give headbutts, I run, I can climb down the stairs, I like to think I can eat with a spoon. I can screw and unscrew loose tops. I like to bounce on beds and pillows and have had my fair share of bumps and bruises. I think it's fun to spin around in circles until I fall over. Mommy's most happy that I'm a big little girl who no longer nurses and sleeps consistently from 6:30pm to 7:00am and yes I still take my nap sometimes 2 of them.

Ashley's 1st Birthday Party

Ashley is a little girl who loves, loves, loves her teddy bear Troy. So we had to have a teddy bear picnic to celebrate her turning 1. We had the party on Saturday. We had sandwiches, teddy grahams, gummi bears, teddy bear picnic cupcakes, and Ashley had her own mini teddy bear cake. Of course the party was held outside at a park. She made it through lunch then was done! She cried through the pictures, she cried while singing and stopped just for a moment to taste the cake, then it continued. We didn't even try to open presents there, we did that at home after she took a nap. We had fun though and thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. We can't believe that she's no longer a baby but a toddler.

Sticker Frenzy

Rachel loves to put stickers on Ashley and this particular afternoon waiting for dinner Ashley was only in a diaper- the perfect sticker canvas.

While going through pictures I came across this one taken when Ashley was only 2 days old!
